Calendar Cops™ 2007 Wall Calendar
Showcases Law Enforcement's Fittest and Finest
Benefits Garden State COPS
West Paterson, NJ - (October 4, 2006) A dozen of the fittest and finest guardians of the Garden State flaunt what's behind the badge and represent the universal appeal of men in uniform in the Calendar Cops™ 2007 wall calendar. No donuts here! This glossy 12-month beefcake wall calendar reveals the sexy side of law enforcement and includes six-pack abs and more muscles than you can shake a nightstick at.
Each month, from January through December, one shirtless male officer is featured in an "arresting" pose at locations around the Garden State, including the beach, the shooting range, a waterfall, a jail and a river.
Calendar Cops™ is in its second edition. "We had an overwhelmingly positive response to the inaugural Calendar Cops™ 2006 calendar, so it was an easy choice to continue with the project for a second year," said Stacy Thomas of the Specialty Publications Division, North Jersey Media Group.
"In the spirit of popular reality television shows that allow the public to choose winners, we thought it would be fun to let New Jerseyans tell us who they wanted as their cover cop this year," said Thomas. In August, following a special News 12 New Jersey broadcast, voters selected Patrolman Robert Shimonovich, a six-year veteran of the Lakewood police force as the cover cop.
A Family Affair
Shimonovich, is a fitness buff who has been known to frequent the gym, sometimes as often as twice a day. When he needs motivation for tough workouts, he turns to his training partner, co-officer on the force and wife, Jeannette. The couple has the distinction of being the first married couple to go through the police academy together.
Jeannette beamed about her husband's newest accomplishment "I don't mind when other people appreciate the hard work he puts into working out. I think he looks good, so why not share it?"
The Calendar Cops™ 2007 cover model was inspired to become a law enforcement officer by his father-in-law, retired Port Authority officer Manny Rivera. As a crisis negotiator for the Lakewood Police Department, Shimonovich finds the most rewarding part of his job to be helping people make the right choice in a dire situation. Among his biggest fans are his sons Nick and Leo.

Supporting an Important Cause
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Calendar Cops™ 2007 will benefit Garden State COPS, the New Jersey Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc. (GSCOPS). GSCOPS was created to provide emotional, financial and legal resources to victims' families.
At the age of 22, the unthinkable happened to newlywed Madeline Neumann, GSCOPS founder and president, when her late-husband Keith was killed in the line of duty. Neumann found solace in attending annual COPS meetings in Washington, and later in 1998 she formed a Garden State chapter of the same organization that had given her strength.
"I think Calendar Cops™ is a great fundraiser," she said. "I will be purchasing several and giving them as gifts to survivors throughout the country." Information about GSCOPS is available online at www.gardenstatecops.com.
Today Neumann is the wife of New Jersey State Lieutenant Michael Parmenter and is the mother of three young children.
Fit and Healthy
Vic Hayek, a patrolman with the West Paterson Police Department, echoes a sentiment shared by his fellow cops-turned-models, "Calendar Cops™ is an opportunity to dispel the popular misconception that all cops eat donuts," he said. "Having a fit and healthy body has definitely helped me on the job. Sometimes the bad guys think twice about acting up once they see me get out of the patrol car."
Calendar Cops™ 2007 is available for $14.99 plus shipping, handling ($3.50) and sales tax. For more information, visit calendarcops.com or call (973) 569-7720.
